JACK RABBIT SPEAKS FAQ

UNSUBSCRIBING

Q. How do I unsubscribe from the Jack Rabbit Speaks newsletter?
A. Send an email (and this part is essential) FROM the email address which is subscribed to the Jack Rabbit Speaks to bman-announce-unsubscribe (at) burningman (dot) com. The system will respond to you with an email to confirm your intent to unsubscribe. Reply to that email, and you're done. NOTE: if you don't send either of these emails from the address with which you're subscribed, it will not work.

Q. I tried that and it didn't work. What do I do now?
A. If you have any other email address with which you might be subscribed, send an email to bman-announce-unsubscribe (at) burningman (dot) com from those. Try all of them.

Q. OK, I tried that too, and it didn't work either. Now I'm going nuts. What do I do?
A. If you've exhausted those resources, email jackrabbitspeaks (at) burningman (dot) com with the subject line UNSUBSCRIBE. In the body of the email, list all the email addresses you use. Seriously. All of them. Our volunteers will do it by hand.

SUBSCRIBING OR SWITCHING EMAIL ADDRESSES

Q. How do I subscribe to the Jack Rabbit Speaks newsletter?
A. Send an email FROM the email address you wish to have subscribed to bman-announce-subscribe (at) burningman (dot) com. You will receive a confirmation email in return. Reply to that email, and you're on!

Q. How do I change which email address I'm subscribed with?
A. Unsubscribe the email you want unsubscribed. Then subscribe with the new one. See instructions on how to accomplish both of these, above.

POST REQUESTS

Q. How do I get my announcement posted to the Jack Rabbit Speaks newsletter?
A. Send an email to jackrabbitspeaks (at) burningman (dot) com with the subject line "POST REQUEST". Paste the content of your post in the body of the email. No attachments, please. The rabbits will consider your post for inclusion.

Q. Can I just email bman-announce (at) burningman (dot) com?
A. Nope. Well, technically you CAN, but it will be ignored and deleted. For real. So don't.

Q. What is an appropriate post for the Jack Rabbit Speaks newsletter?
A. The JRS is the primary mouthpiece for the Burning Man Project to communicate with Burners around the world. There are currently over 60,000 subscribers on the list, and we have essential information that we must communicate to them throughout the year. As such, the last thing we want to do is waste people's precious inbox space and attention span. Thus, we will only include posts that are (in our opinion) of broad enough interest, relevance and importance to that audience. We reserve the right to post or not post anything.

OTHER QUESTIONS

Q. I have a kind of random question. Who can I ask?
A. You have two options. You can email questions (at) burningman (dot) com and ask them (that's your best bet, and a good first place to start). Otherwise, you can email jackrabbitspeaks (at) burningman (dot) com and the rabbits will help you out. We're good like that.
